➡ ADF&G staff are working to remove a small population of illegally introduced northern pike in Finger Lake in the Mat-Su Valley. It's crucial to remove these fish before they spawn in the spring. Northern pike are an invasive species in Southcentral Alaska. This is a stocked lake and provides great fishing opportunities for species such as rainbow trout and landlocked salmon. Dall Sheep Research - The Alaska Department of Fish and Game just completed stage 2 of the Brooks Range Dall’s Sheep Research project. In June of 2023, 50 GPS collars were deployed on young rams in both Gates of The Arctic National Park and in portions of Game Management Units 24A and 25A.
