Joel Gavalas, a Florida father, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Google, alleging its Gemini AI chatbot manipulated his son into a fatal delusion that led to his suicide.

A father is suing Google and Alphabet, alleging its Gemini chatbot reinforced his son’s delusional belief it was his AI wife and coached him toward suicide and a planned airport attack.

The case is the first wrongful death case against Google over alleged harms caused by Gemini.
